The Rice x Nathalie Lété Collection

When Danish design meets French artistry, something magical happens. The Rice x Nathalie Lété collaboration brings together two creative forces who believe in the transformative power of everyday beauty. Rice's playful Scandinavian approach to color and function meets Lété's enchanting, folk-art universe—creating pieces that turn ordinary moments into celebrations of joy.

Each design in this collection carries Nathalie Lété's signature hand-painted illustrations—charming woodland creatures, vibrant botanicals, and whimsical motifs that seem lifted from a vintage storybook. These aren't just tableware and home accessories; they're functional works of art that bring warmth, personality, and a touch of French joie de vivre to your daily rituals.

From morning coffee that starts with a smile to dinner parties that spark conversation, this collaboration celebrates the idea that life's simple pleasures deserve beautiful companions. Every piece invites you to embrace the extraordinary in the everyday—because why shouldn't Tuesday dinner feel special?

Meet the Artist

Nathalie Lété

Nathalie Lété creates a dreamlike universe where folk tales meet contemporary life. She developed her distinctive style by weaving together influences from her multicultural heritage, creating a unique lens through which European folk traditions blend seamlessly with Asian decorative arts.

Her Artistic Language

Lété's work features distinctive motifs including woodland creatures, butterflies, florals, and vintage-inspired elements. Her hand-painted, storybook aesthetic transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary through vibrant colors and whimsical compositions. Every brushstroke carries a sense of nostalgia and wonder, creating pieces that feel both timeless and fresh.

A World of Collaborations

Nathalie's whimsical universe has captured hearts globally through collaborations with renowned brands. She's been a longtime partner with Anthropologie, bringing her folk-art vision to homeware and textiles. Her work with Hygge & West (wallpapers and borders), Vilac toys (wooden guitars, spinning tops, puzzles), Astier de Villatte (ceramic tableware), and Uniqlo has made her poetic aesthetic accessible to design lovers worldwide.

The Magic She Creates

What makes Lété's work so distinctive is its painterly, hand-drawn quality combined with a poetic mood that celebrates imperfection and imagination. Her designs don't just decorate—they tell stories, spark memories, and invite you into a world where beauty and whimsy reign supreme.

About Rice by Rice

A Colorful Journey from Paris to Denmark

Folk Art Ceramic Floral Swan Vase image 1

In 1998, Charlotte and Philippe Guéniau founded Rice after leaving Paris with a bold mission: to bring more color into everyday life. What started with an iconic collection of raffia storage boxes made in Madagascar has blossomed into a global celebration of joyful living, now reaching design lovers in 45 countries.

While rooted in Scandinavian design principles of quality and functionality, Rice takes a delightfully different path—one painted in bold colors, playful patterns, and cheerful prints. Their approach to "colour you happy" transforms practical items into sources of daily delight, proving that well-designed products can be both useful and smile‑inducing.

Creating Impact Beyond Design

Rice's commitment extends far beyond beautiful products. Through partnerships with UNICEF and the Danish Red Cross, they've supported communities worldwide. In Madagascar, their raffia production provides steady income for over 300 families, preserving traditional craftsmanship while ensuring fair wages. Their environmental dedication shows in the Rice Happy Earth project—65,000 trees planted to create a 36‑hectare forest in Denmark, complete with wildflower meadows and wildlife ponds.
